Super Tuesday
Super Tuesday has come and gone. It appears that Clinton and Obama will have to fight it out ’till the end on the Democratic side while McCain is far ahead of his rivals for the Republican nomination.
How does a McCain-Huckabee ticket sound?
Huckabee continues to show surprising strength given his lack of money. If he continues to pick up delegates he will certainly have power to throw around at the Republican convention. Some have already suggested that as McCain’s VP, he could help win the support of the religious conservatives who find McCain too moderate.
If elected, McCain would be the oldest man elected to the office. If elected to VP, Huckabee, who wants to change the constitution to reflect his idea of God’s word, would be a heartbeat away from being president.
I have to agree with those who say that a protracted battle between Obama and Clinton will only weaken the Democratic’s chances for victory in the end. They both are very talented when it comes to making the other look like a poor choice for president. Several more months of that could convince voters that neither of them is suited for the job.
I don’t like any of the prospects so I’m not looking forward to the next administration.
