Gay Men Claim Sexual Relations With U.S. Sen Larry Craig
This is getting so difficult. The Idaho Statesman has published claims by several gay men, including Mike Jones who famously outed Ted Haggard, that they had sexual encounters with U.S. Sen. Larry Craig. They have also posted graphic audio files of the interviews.
Larry Craig is a liar and a hypocrite but the gay men seem almost blissfully unaware that they are giving Idaho voters everything they need to discriminate against gay people running for office. I can understand why they’re doing it in Larry Craig’s case because he has been no friend of gays when it comes to casting votes.
But there’s another side to this coin.
I’d like to think that people will appreciate their honesty but my experience tells me that heterosexuals, especially of the religious variety, always in the end condemn the homosexuals. After all, God made them better than everybody else, right?
The question that goes unasked is “would Larry Craig be in office in Idaho if he was openly and proudly gay?” If the answer is no, and I think it is, then you know why he’s in the closet and living a life of shame and self-loathing. That’s probably all that Idaho voters like the voters in many other states as will allow.
I think Ayn Rand once said something to the effect that you have no obligation to tell a thief where the jewels are hidden. Gay men and women have historically hidden in the closet when the culture in which they are living is hostile to them. It is necessary for self-defense against constant attacks and the theft of all happiness and satisfaction in life.
If heterosexuals are going to steal the lives of gay men and women, there is no obligation to empower them or assist them in carrying out their crimes against individuals who choose to live freely in a country where liberty is supposed to be a birthright.
