2007 Kawasaki Ninja 250R Gas Mileage
My 2007 Ninja 250R has only been driven about 150 miles so the engine is not broken in yet.
Last time I put some gas in it, I reset the trip meter. Today, with the meter at 109 miles, I put some gas in it. It would only take 1.57 gallons. The gas cost $2.889/gal so the grand total was $4.55.
That’s 69.4 mpg!
Keep in mind that I’m a new motorcycle driver and most of my driving so far has been stop-and-go and under 45 miles per hour. If I get into sixth gear, it’s rarely for more than one or two miles before I need to downshift.
UPDATE 2/25/07: Now that I’ve been riding this for a few months, I would say the mileage averages somewhere in the high 60’s for this bike.

Riding my 88 cubic inch (thats 1430 cc) a 650 lb bike, Harley Davidson FXDCI Dyna FI . I weigh 300 lbs and add another 50 lbs for my alpine star leathers and bell helmet. That is 1000lbs…….with my new Chriscross patent pending technology heads I average 56-58 mpg. We have the same bike in a 1380 cc, 80 cubic inch configuration hitting 58-62 mpg.
The test route is semi suburban, has 31 stops, has 10 spots where you hit 55-60 mph for more than 2 miles.
We welcome independent testing from valid corporate or govermental entities.

[...] I recently learned about hypermiling, a collection of driving techniques for increasing the mileage you get in your car and wondered what it would do for the mileage on my 2007 Ninja 250R which already gets great mileage. [...]
