Not in the Mood, Dear: I Have a Headache

I haven’t been much in the mood to blog today. It’s really bright and sunny outside and there are lots of flowers coming up. The maples and alders are starting to get their leaves and the cherry blossoms are starting to come out. It’s definitely spring.

I planted a lot of daffodils and tulips last fall. Actually I intended to plant them in the fall but procrastinated until the winter. Some didn’t get planted until January. They’re coming up all over the place now. Many of the daffodils are already in bloom with the one’s a planted really late just starting to come up. The tulips are a little further behind but a couple have already started to bloom. I another week, I think most of them will have opened up.

The dark side of all this budding beauty all around me is pollen. I go outside and the car is covered with a dusting of pollen just as if there had been light snowstorm last night.

Fortunately, I don’t have allergies as bad as some people do, but when my sinuses start acting up I get a terrible headache that stretches down my neck and into my back. It was better this morning but it has since gotten worse, so I need to take some pills.

It wasn’t very nice of God to give us all this beauty and then make some of us suffer allergic reactions to it also.
